It's been a year since I moved to Tokyo... and I love it here. Granted, it's not the type of beautiful as the classically architected country of Italy or the warm countrysides of the South... but it's still very beautiful. Japan, in total, is absolutely gorgeous. It mixes the traditional and the modern... especially in Tokyo. I was walking in Ginza district earlier today before I went to rehearsal and it was so amazing to see all the high-rise department stores, malls, restaurants, etc. and then all of a sudden, the famous Kabuki theater, Kubukiza, just popped into view, in all of its traditional Japanese glory.

But I live in Roppongi Hills, which is completely modern... like Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku. The difference between Roppongi and the other three is that Roppongi Hills is sleeker and more expensive than the others. Actually, I'm surprised that my pay at the NHK Center covers the costs of my apartment, since it's a Mori residence. But I couldn't help but splurge. When I saw the apartment, I fell in love with it. Sleek black walls and gorgeous black floors and purple carpets. It was great. That and it has so many amenities and services... and it's a high-rise. I've never lived in one before and I just had to. Anyway. Enough about my apartment.

I'm talking way too much. But I can't help but be at least a little excited about being here, even after a year. This is my dream... it always has been. Why not enjoy it?
